Electrifying return of the Hong Kong Formula E

Formula E returns to the streets of Hong Kong with the iconic skyline of Victoria Harbour as the backdrop. Now in its fifth season, the electric car street racing series has cemented its place as a world-class motorsport and entertainment event

HONG KONG CIRCUIT
Designed by Rodrigo Nunes, the circuit runs clockwise and features a 555-metre main straight. The circuit will be a demanding race track with two tight hairpins turns – one at Lung Wo Road and a second at the Star Ferry Pier

STREET CIRCUIT
Race tracks offer lenght straights to provide ample opportunities for overtaking and better vision. Street circuits tend to be very different beasts

Key sectors of the track

The HKT Hong Kong E-Prix reaches 1.86km with 10 turns, including two hairpins, and a 555m main straight. The race format is 45 minutes plus one lap, which means once the 45 minutes is up drivers have to complete one extra lap

SECTOR 1

Between T1 (lowest corner of the track) and T2, which is the circuit's best overtaking opportunity

SECTOR 2

T2 through T9 showcases the technical challenges of the track with a variety of corners, including a chicane

NEW HALO
High–strength titanium with 4mm walls could withstand 14 other Formula E cars stacked on top of it

ATTACK MODE
Enables all drivers to race their fastest speeds for a period of time. Unlocked in specific activation zones on the track. Drivers receive an additional 25kW of power by driving through a designated area of the circuit off the racing line

NEW FORMULA E CAR
The new Formula E vehicle is an open-wheel auto racing car created with a carbon fibre, kevlar and aluminium structure, powered by an electric motor, which is safer and quicker than the Gen1

NEW BATTERY
Developed by McLaren. Charging time: approx. 45 minutes

TEAM AND DRIVER STANDINGS

FANBOOST
Fans can vote for their favourite driver via various social media channels to give them an extra power boost. Voting is already open and closes 15 minutes into the race
