Hong Kong could be on course to send its biggest delegation to the Games. The city was represented by 42 athletes at the London Olympics in 2012 and 37 travelled to Rio four years ago. Podium finishes may prove elusive, but Hong Kong is competitive in swimming, cycling and fencing – and that’s where our brightest medal prospects lie. Hong Kong's first appearance at the Olympic Games was at the Helsinki 1952 Summer Games, with a swimming team composed of Cynthia Eager, Cheung Kin-man, Francisco Monteiro and Irene Kwok as the city's sole representatives. Since then a total of 286 athletes have represented Hong Kong at the Summer Olympics
